OBJECTIVES:

objectives

The objectives of the project are derived from the current challenges of education in Europe:

• to enhance  the quality of students education from rural and urban area,  including students with special needs, for sensitivity awareness  to the environment and for related sustainable development issues and providing an integrated system for environmental management at schools 

• to encourage students’ environmental curiosity and creativity, to provide students’ to work together for a better and healthy environment,to feel the spirit of being a European citizen,to raise awareness on different cultures, countries and languages, and understand the complex relationship between human beings and their environment through inter- disciplinary inquiry,

• to improve students' linguistic, communicative competences in different European Union languages and ICT methodologies and virtual collaboration, leadership skills

• to assist teachers to integrate environmental management principles and practices into schools programs and maximize student learning,  related professional learning to gain practical and educational skills and knowledge about the environment protection

• to encourage a whole-of-school approach to sustainable management of school operations, to invite schools to utilize the natural and to built new model environment to facilitate student’ learning, 

• to increase European dimension in school through improvement of teachers communication and integration of a greater number of schools into this exchange of good practices, promoting collaboration and cooperation among educators and students, public utilities, and government agencies from Europe regarding the value and importance of responsive environmental education for young children. 

• to develop tools for analysing the different dimensions of sustainability, to further develop and to apply these tools in order to illustrate and analyse trade-offs and synergies between different unsustainable trends identified in the EU sustainable development strategy
